2. Bhimashankar Jyotirlinga – Pune district
Bhimashankar Temple is situated in the Sahyadri region and is known for its forested surroundings and hill approach. The drive includes ghat and winding-road sections, so allow sufficient time and avoid planning an unnecessarily rushed connection with another temple. Senior citizens and travellers with mobility needs should discuss walking distance and the temple approach before finalising the itinerary.
Important: The Bhimashankar Trust website currently displays a temporary notice restricting darshan to 7:00 AM–11:00 AM due to construction work around the Sabhamandap and stairs. This may change. 3. Grishneshwar Jyotirlinga – near Ellora
Grishneshwar Temple is located at Verul near the Ellora Caves in the Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar region. Its proximity to Ellora makes it convenient to consider a heritage visit on the same day, provided darshan, temple rules and cave opening hours leave enough time. Follow the temple’s current dress, entry and darshan instructions.

The following is a planning example, not a guaranteed schedule. Temple darshan windows, traffic, weather and road conditions can require a different sequence or an additional night. A relaxed itinerary with senior citizens or several sightseeing stops may need four days or more.
Example A: Mumbai / Nashik side start
- Day 1 – Pickup and Trimbakeshwar: Pickup from the agreed location, drive towards Trimbakeshwar, complete darshan subject to the current temple schedule, and stay in the Nashik / Trimbak region.

Example B: Pune start
- Day 1 – Pune to Bhimashankar: Start early enough to reach within the current darshan window. Continue towards the planned overnight halt only after confirming access and road conditions.
- Day 2 – Trimbakeshwar and Nashik: Travel to Trimbakeshwar for darshan, then consider Panchavati or Nashik sightseeing if time permits. Stay in the Nashik region.
- Day 3 – Grishneshwar and onward drop: Visit Grishneshwar and optionally Ellora, then proceed to the agreed drop point. Depending on the drop city, group and stops, a fourth day may be more comfortable.
